My Top Five Digital Photography Tips

Getting great photos can really be a snap- if you take a little time and get a bit creative.
Here are my favorite, super simple tips to creating photo memories worth sharing:

1. Buy a camera you can be comfortable using. Those fancy pants cameras with all the 'extras' are great, but ask yourself if the features are something you are actually going to use and are they worth the extra cost? If not, just skip them.

2. Keep the camera steady (I know, you're probably saying "duh" right about now!) Hey now, keeping a steady hand on your camera isn't always easy! You could use a tripod, find a flat surface to set the camera on, or simply lean back against a wall or tree. This should help you get the clear, sharp pictures you want.

3. Turn your camera sideways to get an intriguing vertical shot. The results may surprise you.

4. Use your imagination to make your pictures as creative as you can.
Use your location, props, and some unusual posing to really give you a unique photo.

5. Be prepared – always pack an extra memory card, batteries, etc in your camera bag. You don't want to miss a photo op because of poor planning, do you?

These are some very basic tips, I know, but I use them every time I shoot my pics and they help me get the shots I'm after. I hope they help you, too.
